JIM J. THOMAS
Jim Thomas is a graduate of the University of Tulsa. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Geology in 1980 and his Law Degree from the University of Tulsa, College of Law in 1990. He has an Associate’s degree in Science, Respiratory Therapy, from Tulsa Community College, 1976. He was admitted to the Oklahoma State Bar in 1990 and the Idaho State Bar in 1991. He began working for Blaine County as the Chief Deputy Prosecutor in February, 1996. He has been successively elected as Prosecuting Attorney from November 2000 to the present. He serves as Co-Chief Law Enforcement officer in conjunction with the Blaine County Sheriff and is responsible for prosecuting all felony, misdemeanor, juvenile and infraction cases that occur within the county. He is Advisor to the Board of County Commissioners, elected officials and department heads on various matters and serves on many task forces including Advocates against Domestic Violence, Child Abuse and Sexual Assault, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC), Narcotics Enforcement Team, and The Blaine County Community Drug Coalition.
