On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, at approximately 9:20 p.m. deputies from the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop for excessive speed on U.S. Highway 20 near milepost 188 approximately 3 miles west of Picabo, Idaho.
The driver was identified as Arthur Francis Callery, age 69 of Shoshone, Idaho. During the stop, BCSO K9 Kimber performed a free air sniff and alerted on the vehicle which resulted in an arrest.
Callery was charged with one felony count of Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine, I.C. 37-2732(C)1, and one misdemeanor count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Use, I.C. 37-2734A(1). Callery remains in the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment today at 1:30 p.m.
“The Blaine County Sheriff’s Office began their K9 Program this past year to aid deputies in stemming the flow of drugs in our community,” said Sheriff Steve Harkins. “Our two K9’s are trained in drug detection and search and rescue tracking. They are a great asset to our team.”
