On Saturday, February 8, 2020, at approximately 11:27 p.m. Blaine County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a two-vehicle crash that occurred on State Highway 75 near milepost 140, approximately 10 miles north of Ketchum, Idaho.
Upon investigation, a Boise man was arrested for felony Driving Under the Influence.
Cody Ray Grimm, age 31 of Boise, Idaho was driving northbound on Hwy 75 in a grey 2011 Audi A4 when his vehicle crossed the center line into the southbound lane. Elisabeth A. Bartleson, age 33 of Ketchum, Idaho was driving a white 1997 Ford F150 truck southbound when the Grimm’s Audi came into her lane of travel. Bartleson made an evasive maneuver toward the shoulder but was unable to avoid the collision. The Audi impacted the rear driver’s side bumper and tire of the Ford forcing the truck into the snowbank on the southbound shoulder. The driver’s side rear wheel broke off the axle of the truck during the impact. The Audi received heavy front end damage. Both vehicles were inoperable and had to be towed from the scene.
All the occupants were wearing seat belts. Bartleson and her passenger reported no injuries. Grimm, the sole occupant of his vehicle, was evaluated for injuries and medically cleared by St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center prior to being arrested for felony Driving Under the Influence, I.C. 18-8004(1)(A). Grimm has two previous DUI convictions both in 2012. Grimm is being held in the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment in Magistrate Court at 1:30 today.
