In our continued response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Blaine County has closed both the Blaine County Annex located at 219 South First Avenue and the Old Courthouse located at 206 South First Avenue, Hailey, Idaho, to public access, effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020.  This closure has been extended until Monday May 4, 2020.

The Annex houses the following County government offices: DMV, Assessor, Treasurer, Prosecuting Attorney, Public Defender, Probation, Land Use & Building Services, and GIS. The Old Courthouse houses the following County government offices: Elections, Indigent, Clerk, Auditor, Recorder, Payroll, County Commissioners, County Administrator, and Administrative Services. Staff for these offices will respond to inquiries and, except for specific services, assist customers and clients only by telephone and email. Contact information for each department is available on this Blaine County website under the “Government” tab at the top or bottom of the homepage. You will find that many functions typically handled in person can be handled online or by telephone. If you need assistance, County staff is here to assist you.

The Public Safety Facility which houses the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office and Blaine County Emergency Communications has also been closed to the public. However, Blaine County teams are operating normally to provide seamless public safety services to Blaine County.

The Judicial Building is open to conduct very limited court proceedings but will be limiting public access to those who are needing to attend court proceedings.

The Blaine County Recycle Center is closed to the public but has bins located for public to drop off some recyclable materials.  The public is encouraged to use their curbside pickup or hold on to their recyclable materials until normal operations resume.

In their building closure order, the Blaine County Commissioners emphasized the need to safeguard as best as possible the health and safety of the public and County employees. Blaine County refers you to the Centers for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov for the latest information and best practices to avoid COVID-19 disease transmission.
