Crash scene investigation indicated that Sherie L. Taylor, age 51 of Carey, Idaho, traveling southbound on Hwy 93 in a white 2016 Chevrolet truck had stopped for flaggers working on the road. Clayton Lloyd Nielson, age 78 of Kimberly Idaho, also traveling southbound in a white 1994 Chevrolet truck towing a horse trailer with three horses inside, was unable to stop and impacted the rear of Taylor’s vehicle.
Taylor and her passenger were transported to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Nielson received medical care by Carey Ambulance at the scene but later refused transport.
Both vehicles received substantial damage. Taylor’s vehicle was driven from the scene but Nielson’s vehicle required towing. Citations are pending the completion of the investigation. There were no reported injuries to the three horses in the trailer.
