On Friday, July 2, 2021, at approximately 7:56 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff deputies responded to a motorhome vs car collision at the U.S. 20 and State Hwy 75 junction.
Crash scene investigation determined that Cai Yan Wang, age 46 of Renton, WA, was driving a Coachman Motorhome with six passengers traveling westbound on U.S. Hwy 20 when Wang failed to stop at the red blinking light intersection.
Maria Del C/ Orozco Corona, age 23 of Jerome, ID, was traveling southbound on State Hwy 75 in a 2012 Silver Mazda with three passengers. The Mazda collided with the Coachman RV in the intersection.
Alonzo Jimenez Mendoza, age 31 of Jerome, ID, a backseat passenger in the Mazda, and Zhao Ming Yang, age 47 of Newport, ME, a passenger in the rear of the motorhome were both transported to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Both of the vehicles received substantial damage and were towed from the scene. All the occupants reported wearing seat belts.
Cai Yan Wange was cited for Failure to Stop/Yield, I.C. 49-807(2).
