The vendor that purchases Blaine County's plastic recyclables has informed us that they are currently limiting what plastic items they are collecting. This is due to rate changes in the Mountain West, and they could change what they accept at any point depending on the rates. Currently plastic bottles that are labeled #1, and #2 milk jugs and detergent bottles are all that they are accepting. We encourage residents to continue to recycle plastics as usual in hopes that all plastic #1-5 will be recycled again soon. We also suggest that the community works on reducing the use and purchase of plastic items to help decrease the amount going to the landfill.
