On Friday, October 15, 2021, at approximately 2:41 a.m., a Blaine County Sheriff deputy performed a welfare check on the occupant of a 2004 red Toyota Corolla in the barrow pit on Gannett Rd.
The driver and sole occupant, Rachel Amine McLaughlin, age 39 of Picabo, Idaho, was subsequently arrested for misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence, I.C. 18-8004.
During an inventory of her vehicle before towing, controlled substances were located. McLaughlin is also charged with misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana, I.C. 37-2732(C)(3), and felony Possession of Controlled Substance Cocaine, I.C. 37-2732(C)(1).
McLaughlin was arraigned in Magistrate Court on Friday where a combined bond of $3,000 was ordered by the court. McLaughlin was released on bond and is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on October 19, 2021.
