On Wednesday, July 6, 2022, at approximately 11:48 p.m., a Bellevue man was arrested for one felony, and five misdemeanors, and cited for two infractions resulting from a traffic stop on Main Street and Fox Acres Rd. in Hailey, Idaho.
Upon investigation, Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the driver, Daniel Torres Escobedo, age 37 of Bellevue, Idaho, who was charged with the felony Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine, I.C. 37-2732(C)(1), misdemeanor Driving Under the Influence, I.C. 18-8004(1)(A), misdemeanor Driving Without Privileges, I.C. 18-8001, misdemeanor Injury to Child, I.C. 18-1501(3), misdemeanor Open Container of Alcohol, I.C. 23-505, and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Intent to Use, I.C. 37-2734A(1). Torres Escobedo has also cited two infractions, Failure to Register a Vehicle, I.C. 49-456, and Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance, I.C. 49-1232.
A juvenile male passenger, who was the only other occupant in the vehicle, was released to a parent who was called to the scene.
Torres Escobedo is in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center pending arraignment in Magistrate Court Thursday.
