On Monday, November 7, 2022, at approximately 5:58 a.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a three-vehicle crash with injuries and lane blockage on State Highway 75 near Alturas Drive.
Crash scene investigation determined that Brandon E. Franklin, age 25 of Alachua, Florida, was driving northbound on Hwy 75 in a red 2020 Toyota Camry when he lost control in the snow and slid across the highway colliding head-on into a silver 2007 Honda CRV, driven southbound by Christina B. Wampler, age 25 of Denver, Colorado. Wampler had one female passenger and one canine passenger. A third vehicle drove into the barrow pit to avoid the collision.
Wampler and her passenger, Elena P. Arroway, age 21 of Denver, Colorado, were both transported to St. Luke’s Wood River Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries. Franklin was cited for Driving Too Fast for Conditions, I.C. 49-654(1).
Both the Toyota and the Honda were towed from the scene with significant damages. The third vehicle was pulled from the barrow pit with no damages.
The canine passenger was taken to the vet to await pickup by a family member.
