On Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at approximately 5:46 p.m., Blaine County Sheriff’s deputies initiated a traffic stop on U.S. Highway 26 near milepost 207.
The driver was identified as Travis James Stroud, age 42 of Eagle, Idaho. Stroud had two minor children in the vehicle as passengers.
Deputies determined that Stroud had a valid and extraditable felony warrant out of Canyon County . Stroud was arrested on the felony warrant per I.C. 19-512. During a vehicle inventory search incident to arrest, deputies located controlled substances and paraphernalia. Stroud was additionally charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), I.C. 37-2732(C)(1), and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, I.C. 37-2734A(1).
The two minor children were transported separately to the Blaine County Public Safety Facility to await family members to retrieve them. Stroud’s vehicle was towed from the scene.
Stroud was arraigned in Magistrate Court Thursday afternoon where a bond of $50,000 was ordered by the Judge. Stroud remains in the custody of the Blaine County Detention Center at the time of publication.
