On June 18th, Blaine County Commissioners held two meetings to discuss how to proceed following the suspension of the BLM Travel Management Plan, and specifically whether to recommended that BLM pursue an Environmental Assessment (EA). The EA could examine some or all of the build components and wildlife closures that were proposed in the Travel Management Plan options. In total 68 community members attended the meetings. Public comment was taken. The Commissioners decided that they do want to recommend to the BLM that it pursue an EA, but the Commissioners want more time and public input to determine the scope of the recommended EA.
The Board will hold a second public meeting in July to further discuss its recommendation to the BLM. The Commissioners thank everyone who attended the two meetings and submitted written comments and encourage the public to stay engaged. Please submit additional comments below or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
